Day One of All The News Fit To Print

A Brookings summary of polling at the end of 2022 shows a divided country. The split between certainty of criminality and not is at best around even. And that is before Fox’s Tucker Carlson showed a tiny bit of the exculpatory footage.

Now that the rest of the footage has been released, it would be interesting to see the key polling organizations repeat that set of polling questions. As far as a search this morning goes, nothing.

But Colorado’s Judiciary removed Mr. Trump from the Colorado Ballot. Then Maine. On the grounds that he committed a crime. And the NY Times sounds pleased. Sadly Mr. Trump was charged with the crime, in an impeachment hearing, and was acquitted by the Senate. So these actions would seem groundless. And the Republican Party, generally no good friend of Mr. Trump, has asked the Supreme Court to adjudge the matter.

But now I can ignore ALL OF THAT and casually ask a Right Person if they’ve heard about the crocodile dictionary project or the guy in Queens battling 47 different kinds of mosquito. And feel comfortable and smug.
