The behavior since the election has heightened the division among neighbors. Ms. X has told Mr. Y she is not speaking to him because a) he wrong-voted and b) she lost and c) she just can’t deal with it. Self alienation from the supportive surrounding community. Other-cancelling. Nasty virtue-signalling in the face of a reality that will not change.
I self-censor. The Reds and the Blues are more purple than different. War mongering is a UniParty (purple party) crede. So is MultiNational Corporate capitalism. So is Privatization of the Commons. So is graft. I expect little material difference outside of the probable shaking up of the permanent bureaucracy and the publication of secrets best aired. But to point out the dishohesties of either is to bring down a Letter Of Cancellation (LOC) and it just isn’t worth it.
From a signaling and narrative point: genius. There is no reason they can’t handle the roles as well or better than the usual idealogue hacks.
