Two questions about the US MIC

Boeing is out of business if they can’t find the money to reclaim their heritage as an excellent engineering and manufacturing company. The military arm may be a cash cow but it’s a distraction. Especially if you think WW III isn’t coming and the whole rush to arm is going to come to little.

On the other hand, the US Military can’t fight a war on Russia’s Rules. Or China’s. Or, probably, Iran’s. And neither can Europe. And since there is some possibility we might have to get involved in one we need to get ready.

That means building old-school ammunition factories. Designing new, modernized, and cheaper missiles. Including hypersonics now that we’re a decade behind both Russian and China. And building drones. Lots of inexpensive drones.

Oh, and air defenses”. Their hypersonics make everything we have useless.

So, the $61B for Ukraine” goes to ammunition, artillery, and vehicle factories. It goes into R&D for simpler and cheaper drones, missiles, and defenses. And a pittance goes to Ukraine but that was the plan all along.
